Why Doesn’t God Punish Evil Instantly?

O. Elishiba asks:

“Why doesn’t God give instant punishment for committing a sin? One man made my family cry a lot, he deceived me and almost killed them with emotional pain. Don’t you think that same day his car should have crashed or he should have perished. Today after many years he is extreme evil, wealthy, cruel, prosperous, has happy family, while we are still in pain.”

My answer…

The bible teaches that God is long-suffering and it is not his will that any should perish. Think about it, as bad as this person is would you want them to end up in hell for eternity? Also think about how you were when you were lost – had God given you justice at that point in your life you would have perished on the spot. The bible instructs you to forgive and pray for that person’s salvation. If you have a problem with that ask God to give you supernatural grace. Point is God is patient, forbearing and long-suffering with sinners…

What Is the Genesis Gap Theory?

R. Guntrum asks:

“What is the Genesis gap theory?”

My answer…

It’s a false doctrine that teaches that God created everything then destroyed it in the gap between Genesis 1:1–2, and that He then recreated everything. Many people will say that Satan’s rebellion led to this destruction and all sorts of mad speculation proceeds from that point. It is fantasy religion.
