Murray’s Mark of the Beast Leads His Followers to HELL!

Arnold Murray leads his followers to the slaughter
Arnold Murray leads his followers to the slaughter

They could tattoo 666 from your head to your feet and it would not change your feelings or mind about Christ. This is important. I hope you understand” – Arnold Murray, Newsletter #264

Arnold Murray is leading his followers to accept the real mark of the beast when it is presented to humanity during the great tribulation.

(Rev 13:16) And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Murray taught that taking the mark simply meant that the individual was deceived into false worship (the forehead) or that they served the beast (the hand). But this is another damnable LIE!

In Chapel doctrine the mark is merely spiritual. But ask yourself this question:

What kind of spiritual mark could a person receive that would make it possible to literally buy or sell during the tribulation and those who don’t have it to not be able to buy or sell?

In other words, if it simply spiritual, what’s to keep me from buying and selling during the tribulation?

It’s impossible, it can’t be done… it has to be a real mark.

The word for ‘mark’ in the greek is charagma and it means a etching, engraving, a stamp, a scratch… in other words something on the OUTSIDE of the body. Something whereby you can be identified – and if you don’t have it, you don’t buy or sell and are sentenced to death.

The word for “in” is “epi” and should be translated as upon… as it is in Revelation 20:4…

(Rev 20:4) And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The mark is an external verifying mark of the followers of the beast. You must receive this to buy or sell… Murray is teaching his followers that they can take that mark and it wouldn’t warrant eternal condemnation. But what does the bible say?

(Rev 14:9) And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

(Rev 14:10) The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

(Rev 14:11) And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

We see here that worship of the beast and receiving the mark go together but are TWO SEPARATE ACTIONS. If one does the later (takes the mark) then the bible says they go STRAIGHT TO HELL, DON’T PASS GO, DON’T COLLECT $200.

Those who take the mark will be killed in the judgments that attend the second advent – they will NOT enter into eternity.

For Murray, taking the mark doesn’t lead eternal damnation but that these souls who take the mark (all but the 7,000 VERY ELECT will worship the beast according to him) will receive a second chance during the millennium to get things right because Satan’s powers of deception are so great that they really didn’t have a chance…

And if they fail at the end of the millennium God will only merely blot them out of existence.

The truth is, during the time of tribulation IF you receive the beast’s mark you will receive NO SECOND CHANCE in the millennium. You will be punished with everlasting, CONSCIOUS, damnation.

I want people to realize this:

The Shepherd’s Chapel through a myriad of false doctrines is priming a multitude for eternal death – this teaching concerning the mark is prime example…

    1. Pastor Murray doesn’t say that receiving the mark is spiritual, he speaks about the Word of God being marked in the forehead of all God’s children who believe and obey and love Him ( the Tav ) being placed in their foreheads so Satan can’t harm a hair on their foreheads. Murray’s words in this rebuttal are twisted and if you interpret the teachings as written by God, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, its correct. Like the Dake Bible and the Bullinger writings we have to verify all teaching by man in God’s Word. The Greek Interlinear helps a lot to verify and clarify Murray’s teachings and others! We must pray that God opens our eyes, bring us understanding, and we must seek and we will find, asking for guidance and insight through the Spirit!

      1. nothing twisted – the mark can either be a literal mark that can be seen, or a non-literal mark (spiritual). So nothing has been twisted in regards to the nature of the mark he refers to. The point being, why tell people that they could be tattooed all over their body and it wouldn’t mean anything. I find Murray’s teachings about the mark of the beast, dangerous.

    1. Look up the meaning of the word, “mark” – Greek, charigma, means stamp, etching, engraving… something external! Not internal, a chip or something spiritual. If you take that mark when it is administered the bible says you’ll be condemned!

      1. There may be a chip of some sort, not really certain. Seems that is a counterfeit type of mark system – the dispensational futurist’s invented the chip interpretation. I have good reason to not trust their insight.

  1. Even if you were right, why would anyone take the mark when they know it is from Satan? On the other hand, if the Pastor is right and Satan is coming in the form of Jesus since anti means instead of – and sincehe was made the full pattern and wants you to worship him at least we know not to. Pastor Murray has warned all who will listen. Nobody would get a mark because of what the Pastor said but they may worship the anti-Christ if they never heard the truth. He is going to do miracles and be very convincing. You have been warned, don’t harden your heart to the truth.

    1. First off I see something you assume that is throwing you off. The antichrist is called the “MAN” of sin. He will be a literal flesh and blood person. He will be inspired by Satan no doubt but he is merely a man. People will take the mark in order to buy or sell, to survive. The mark will be put for as a good thing… like a religious symbol – something like the hexagram. Murray teaches that to worship and/or serve the beast is to take the mark… THAT IS A LIE! A damning one at that. People will worship the beast THEN take the mark. If you take the mark you are condemned for eternity right then and there. It is a literal mark, it is physical and external.

Murray also teaches that the second beast is the antichrist – this is not true. We are told at the end of Revelation chapter 13 that 666 is the number of the beast, and it is the number of a man. Meaning that the first beast is a man, the antichrist. The second beast is the false prophet, another flesh and blood man.

    2. Revelation further adds that the suffering of those who refuse to take the mark will be great enough to compel nearly anyone to receive it. How could a father let his family starve over a simple issue of a tattoo or chip implant? How could a single mother not provide for her children just because of some old principles. The social and physical pressure to conform will be great and only those foreordained by God will be granted the strength to endure till the end.

  2. You, nor anyone else, will stop people from viewing/listening to Shepherd’s Chapel. It doesn’t fit the description of a cult. I’m trying to understand your fear and hatred. It must be very deep-seated and personal and nothing to do with biblical teaching. I like Shepherd’s Chapel. I don’t fear or hate anyone when listening to it. I feel more love of God than I ever have before.

    1. I don’t hate Murray or any of his followers – I have a godly hatred of false religion. God loves you and want you to be free from Murray’s false system of theology. Unfortunately, even Christians are suspect to getting deeply ensnared in religious idolatry and deception. The Lord Jesus Christ delivered me Murray’s teaching. It may not fit your definition of cult but anywhere you find a religious organization built around heresies and false teaching with followers to boot, I would consider that a cult. I don’t deny that you have a relationship with God, but it isn’t helped any by false teaching and deception.

  3. The bible (KJV) declares that people from all faiths and religions will be saved by their faith alone. enough for me. Why have so many taken the time to be so negative about Arnold Murray..if you are true believers….why spend so much time and effort to disqualify him when the muslim religion is a heresy to the world? I suggest refocusing your piusness where it belongs…on those who do not recognize the true savior

    1. The reason we take time is because we have come out of cults and false religion and we hate seeing people enslaved by them. Murray is a false teacher and it needs to be made clear what he is teaching so people can be forewarned. You say the KJV states that people from all faiths and religions will be saved by their faith alone… what are you talking about? A Buddhist’s faith in Buddha well send them to hell. A Muslims faith in Allah will send them to hell. What it seems like you are saying is that a person can be saved from any religious background as long as they have faith – only faith in Jesus Christ will save. I suggest you go back and read your bible, and this time take what it says seriously.

    2. We take the time because ideas have consequences. How you understand your origins, what gives life meaning, what defines morality, and what gives life its ultimate purpose will effect how you live and interpret what happens around you. The critical areas of Shepherd’s Chapel teachings are addressed on blogs like these because they are not without influence in your life. They are not intellectual ideas to tickle the mind, they are powerful forces for the outworking of you life and walk with Jesus.

  4. 1 Timothy 1:5-7
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

    1. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. – Revelation 14:8-10

      1. Great discussion. I highly respect the opinion that there will be a human antichrist and a physical mark of an evil man, and I used to think this (and worry about this) but a lot has transforms my view on this.
        1) Most symbols in revelation are not new. Revelation ties it’s imagery to scriptural imagery from the Old Testament. The four horsemen of the apocolypse, temple ceremony, Gog and Magog, and marks on hands and foreheads. Reference to hand and forehead is throughout Exodus and Deuteronomy. It’s a proclamation of what you worship in your heart. You’ll have to Google this to check.
        2) I don’t believe there will be a rapture, only Christ’s return. There won’t be second chances like the Movie Left Behind. Being ‘taken’ is a bad thing. The New Testament compares being taken to what happened with Noah. Clearly, as stated in the Old Testament, being taken was destruction. God preserved those who were faithful and took away evil doers to their destruction. Those with the Mark are those who chose to worship a false god or gods; God knows who are his and who are not. You are either have Jesus or you worship someone else.
        (3) Revelation is a vision of victory of the saints; those Martyrs who stood fast to preserve and glorify the faith in the early church and those throughout the ages. Throughout the ages generations have thought they were living in the end times. We are closer today than ever and very well could be, and it seems technology is ripe for the physical imagery of Revelation’s vision, but the whole point is to worship God with your whole heart, mind and strength and to love your brothers and sisters. Yes you should be ready in my opinion to die in the name of Jesus if called to (this happens to Christians in other counties all of the time these days — not here in America) and you should look closely at all teachings and test them working out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Bible verse) but the victory is won if you are a Christian. The folks I see taking the mark of the beast are those that either reject God or claim to be Christians but prostitute themselves to other gods in how they live. I believe if you take Gods mark through faith you cannot take any other mark. But if you haven’t (put your trust and hope and worship in Jesus) then you don’t need a microchip to carry you off to your destruction; you can do that by worshiping the TV or sports or anything that keeps you from putting God first.

I will say that my faith is stronger than ever since I took this view and as I have read back through the whole Bible comparing Revelation to other books it is more and more clear that Revelation is spiritual in nature.
Ioffer this advice because this might not make sense without context of some thing that are symbols. I don’t know these things but in this context look at it this way.
        – The breast and false prophet seem to be ancient Roman might and false religion. I was asked to show where in Revelation that there is an antichrist and I could not. Only a beast. Ancient Rome is aluded to in Daniel and its destruction was fulfilled in Revelation. Elsewhere in the bible there are references to an antichrist type figure but Thesalonians is the only book where a man of lawlessness is mentioned. Elsewhere it is referring to the spirit of antichrist. I believe Thesalonians may be referring to one such individual hit not an end of days antichrist everyone thinks of. Rome was the most puffed up empire in history whose emperors thought themselves gods. They crucified Christ and Christians but because of their persecution and THE GAITH OF THE MARTYRs through Christ in them, Rome was destroyed and Christianity took over the world (it became the official Roman religion as well!).
        – the olive trees and two witnesses refer to the church. This ties back with references to witnesses in the Bible. They have the authority and power of Christ. It’s not Moses and Elisha in my opinion, or anyone from modern day.
        – 666 the number of mania not the number of a man, it’s the number of mankind. Man’s number is six. Gods number is 7. We have tried to be like him (and raise ourselves as God) and 666 aluded in my opinion to the trinity. What is evil in Gods sight is man worshipping the work of his own hand and not God.
        – the New Jerusalem. God doesn’t snatch us away from earth to take us to heaven in my opinion. He restores heaven and earth. There is interesting text in scripture that says we will meet him in the air. But this doesn’t necessarily mean we will fly up to heaven. Elsewhere in the Bible it means going out to meet a great guest and bring him back to the town or house. So it seems Christ will return and not snatch us up to heaven and destroy the earth. There is a lot of destruction portrayed but I believe this is symbolic (it reads the same as Old Testament destruction of cities – with the Stars rolled up as a scroll, etc. this means that God means business and he’s going to destroy evil for good. It doesn’t mean that Christians will be snatched up and God will literally turn the seas red and the moon red and do literally everything stated. If I believed this, the. I would be calling those who wrote the Old Testament false prophets because they used the same language about a city being destroyed. Look for ties between Tevelation and the rest of the Bible.

It’s all about God. Don’t take the mark of anything but God. Have Jesus printed on your forehead and hand in how you lead your life and walk with the spirit, worshipping God in all you do.

  5. No one completely understands Revelation! What bothers me is the clowns that tell me im bound for hell if i dont agree with them! I respect Pastor Murray,s teaching but i dont agree with everything hes says, but i dismiss the haters immediately, they show their faith by their works!

p.s. im aware hes passed away i mean his
    taped lectures.

  6. The mark is exactly what it says….its a mark on the forehead or the hand.
We are to take the Bible as literal right?
So it is an actual mark.
My grandmother my aunt and my cousins now believe Murray’s teaching that it is a state of mind.
    : /
That makes no sense to me. There is alot that makes no sense to me.

    1. Start with finding all of the Old Testament instances of marks on the hand and forehead. Don’t just read relevation and think they must be literal.

      1. I will grant you that Corey, but explain to me a spiritual mark that would allow a man to buy or sell? Is the buying and selling literal, or figurative? If the buying and selling is spiritual/figurative then what does that mean? And we are talking about a mark that identifies the followers of the beast, not God’s people.

      2. “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” – Revelation 13:16-17

Explain a non-literal mark that would allow people to literally buy or sell; not saying it can’t be done but please explain it to me.

  7. The mark of the beast relates to strict adherence to the Old Testament laws. Read Exodus 13:16 and compare it to Revelation 13:16. The Anti(instead) of Christ will demand full worship and impose the Mosaic law with a Christian twist as he will proclaim to be the ultimate sacrifice, with its rules e.g. Sabbaths, new moons, tithes and so forth make ideal to rule and slave people. Anyone not participating in this system will be rounded up as heretics and unrepentant sinners. Look at Herod’s kingdom in the time of Christ. That Sabbath keeping kingdom ended up crucifying Jesus Christ. The Antichrist will persecute the saints that hold the testimony of Jesus Christ (Grace) and judge them a blasphemers and sinners, a death penalty according to Mosaic law. The rest of the world will become self-righteous and think they are saved if they obey the Mosaic commandments and worship the Antichrist. That is why they will receive the wrath of God. It is all about works vs. grace, wrath vs. mercy. Has the Lord Jesus Christ open your eyes to His grace? I think SC sets up its followers to accept the mark, many of them follow dietary rules, Sabbath keeping and so forth. Thinking they are biological descendants of Israel makes them easy to coerce them to follow the Mosaic covenant under the Antichrist.

    1. I somewhat agree with this – I have heard of the Noachide laws; I think this system will be fused with some type of Sharia and Dominionist one. Very severe. The antichrist will reside over a zionist utopia he will call the millennium but the other religious traditions will be meshed in with it. So yes, I think that that has alot to do with it; I’m sure there is more to it but they will attempt to outlaw THE Gospel of Grace or suppress it very heavily.

Yes, the Chapel does set them up for this, in so many ways.

      1. Hi Timothy, It will be as it was in the beginning of the Church. “They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. John 16:2. The AC will claim that those who do not follow his commandment will bring the plagues upon their nations and the world. Anyone not portraying the 10 commandment outside their business may not be allowed to sell. If you do not carry phylacteries in your hand or forehead, people will betray you as a non-believer, I think this is the external mark of the beat: that you follow the AC’s covenant of Law. The courts of the Sanhedrin will be established to judge those who deny the AC is God, part of the Noachide laws. That is the reality but we have Jesus Christ faith imputed to us to survive this ordeal according to His Will.

    2. The Noahide Law are Talmudic… there are 7. The are punishable by death.

      2. Do not blaspheme God.

      7. Establish courts/legal system to ensure obedience to the law.

So in other words, the New Testament will be condemned as Anti-semitic professing faith in Christ would be considered blasphemy. I think there is a lot we can do to prevent it but is definitely an approaching reality. The Judaizers are coming…

  8. I don’t think that he will mesh the Mosaic covenant with other religions. He will try to mimic what the real Jesus will do Matthew 24:24. The Mosaic Law is severe enough in itself. Every nation will worship him as Christ. The Mosaic law has punishments such as stoning for blasphemy and so forth. I do not think that he will kill those who resist him right away. He will probably sent us somewhere outside in the desert to give us time to repent before or after his judgment. After all, he will claim to be as merciful as Christ was. He will probably try to bribe us and make us feel as if we are unrepentant sinners. The Judaizers claim that Paul was a heretic and they will probably do the same for us. He will claim the prophecies of Ezekiel’s millennium temple because people can read the Bible. He will even twist the meaning of grace as a type of works gospel. Jesus Christ will indeed impose the law when he returns as per Ezekiel’s vision. Probably because the AC will pervert the law so much with its own counterfeit version. Jesus Christ will show the resurrected people that the law with all its rituals, sacrifices and Sabbaths ultimately all lead to Him. And then He will offer them the New Covenant of grace. He is our eternal sacrifice and rest. He will show us the meaning of how he desires mercy and not sacrifice.

  9. What if all of you are wrong? If youre going to be quick to judge..condemn…better make absolutley sure your correct right? to he that much has been given..much shall be required. I tend not to judge and call out publicly others…instead i would rather let the Holy spirit do the guiding and teaching from the reading of his Holy and Living Word. Whether it be alone..or with others. Rest in Jesus Christ finished work my friends.
